Tomohiro Fujita, CEO of CHITOSE Group, gave a presentation at the 19th Saudi-Japanese Business Council Meeting (hereinafter, SJBC) held in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, January 12th.
SJBC is held periodically to promote economic cooperation between Japan and Saudi Arabia by facilitating information exchange and networking in areas such as investment, technology, human resources development and others.. The council was attended by Yoji Muto, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and His Excellency Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia, as well as more than 150 government officials from both countries and member companies of the SJBC.
Four Japanese companies gave presentations at the council. Speaking on the theme of GX (Green Transformation), Fujita declared, “We will turn the desert green and generate significant profits.In explaining the strategy to turn the desert green, Fujita introduced the current progress in MATSURI, a project that leverages photosynthesis and CHITOSE Agriculture Initiative.
After the presentation, Fujita was approached by local government agencies such as the Ministry of Investment and government-affiliated companies to discuss the proposal in more detail. CHITOSE Group will continue to cooperate with local companies and governments and take the lead in establishing bioeconomy in the Middle East.
