From April 27 to May 2, CHITOSE participated in Cell Culture Engineering XIX, one of the leading international conferences in the field of cell technology. This year’s event brought together 450 professionals from 21 countries, featuring a highly selective program of presentations and posters.

Erike Widyasari Sukowati, BioEngineer at CHITOSE, presented during Poster Sessions II and III, held on Monday, April 28th and Tuesday, April 29th. The presentation, titled “Establishment of Novel CHO-MK Cells and Optimal Culture Strategy for Enhancement of Therapeutic Protein Production,” highlighted CHITOSE’s advancements in establishing a novel high-performing cell line, named CHO-MK cells. This cell line exhibits an excellent doubling time of less than 10 hours and a growth rate twice as fast as conventional CHO cells.  Furthermore, the optimal culture strategy using CHO-MK cells resulted in high productivity of 10 g/L on day 5.

The talk drew significant interest from attendees, particularly in regard to the CHO-MK cell line’s high productivity and performance characteristics. CHITOSE also supported the conference as a sponsor, helping to make the event more accessible to early-career researchers.
