From the Farm Area to the Factory Area
The Japan Pavilion consists of three areas connected under the common theme “Between Lives”: “Farm Area”, “Plant Area”, and “Factory Area”. “Circulation” is a keyword concept inside the pavilion, where various forms of it, such as ecosystems and resources, are showcased, helping visitors to recognize that they are part of the Earth’s grand cycle.
In the Farm area, where algae take center stage, Chitose Laboratory Corporation will conduct the technical supervision. Meanwhile, in the Factory area, which focuses on the theme of circular manufacturing, the MATSURI project will be responsible for the exhibition. Algae, which played a central role in the Farm Area, will now be featured as a material in the Factory Area, showcasing a variety of products that will support everyday life in the future, including clothing, cosmetics, food, paints, PET resin, aviation fuel, and ship fuel.
A future supported by microalgae is not just a dream—it is within reach, just beyond a single pane of glass. Experience the reality of a sustainable cycle, backed by solid technology and the expertise of leading companies, right here at the venue. We look forward to welcoming you to the Japan Pavillion.
Details of the exhibited products will be progressively published on the EXPO 2025 special website.
